We’ve compiled a brief history of Peninsula Power Products, from our humble beginnings to where we are today.
Established as Victor Kent Diesel.
Sold and renamed to BTR Power Products (Pty) Ltd.
Became the top selling Perkins engine dealer in Southern Africa.

Since 2000
Awarded distribution rights for Twin Disc Marine gearboxes for Southern Africa.
Became the top selling Perkins engine dealer in Southern Africa.
Signed a dealership with MAN Marine engines. Established the Port Elizabeth branch in the Eastern Cape.
Awarded MTU dealership for the Eastern Cape.
Started selling Iveco G-drives through Salister Diesel and sold first two NEF Marine engines.
Purchased our 1750 m2 premises in Cape Town. Appointed as John Deere Marine dealer by SA distributor New Way Engineering.
Sold 42 John Deere Marine engines and 30 complete gensets from 40kva to 1000kva.
Since 2010
Continued growth in engine sales, especially with John Deere.
Awarded distribution of the FPT (previously known as IVECO) brand in Southern Africa.
Started importing VM Motori engines and spare parts from Italy.
Awarded local dealership for MWM engines & parts.
BEE Status changed to Level 2.
Started marketing Scania Marine & Industrial engines.
Experienced growth in the generator division with its own brand namely ‘Penpower Diesel Generators’
Due to continued growth in industrial standby generators, formed a new company to focus on assembly and distribution of gensets.
Awarded Marine dealership for Baudouin engines, providing a wide range of heavy-duty engines up to 1400hp.
Sold first of four 32 litre (1000HP) Baudouin engines into Namibia for a bottom trawler.
Since 2020
Appointed as Scania Marine dealer for Western Cape & Eastern Cape regions.
Sold 21 Scania Marine engines to a local boatyard for powering newly built vessels for export to oil & gas company in West Africa.
Major renovations undertaken at Paarden Eiland premises include new flooring in the PDG workshop, reception area, offices and a new enlarged showroom.
